Better Business School (for Aliens, misfits, and the ones here to do it different)

A Non-Traditional Approach to Building a Business that Values People + pleasure As Much as Profit

Here’s what I know for sure: most of the business coaching, courses, and online business resources available aren’t prioritizing ethical marketing and business practices as much as they could and should.

I’m not here to gossip or shit-talk what other people/businesses are doing.

I am here for the people who feel the funkiness.

Who aren’t creating the impact or experiencing the fulfillment you crave, because you don’t know how to start a business without stopping your core value.

The ones who resist calling yourself a coach.

Who don’t even know if you want to/can start a business, because the way you’ve seen it done just doesn’t sit right with you.

Purpose-led, soul-driven, spiritual business and heart-centered entrepreneur are all terms that have been co-opted by the online business space… and while it’s been effective marketing, it doesn’t move us forward if it isn’t actually practiced.

Seriously - can you define what those terms means? Point to the business practices you’ve learned/tried/experienced that truly walk the talk of those phrases?

Let me be clear: you are not bad, wrong, evil if you don’t have answers or a perfectly ethical business. You just haven’t found a new way. Until now.

A little about this approach…

  • This is a foundational business creation experience, offered to you either as a full workshop series, or a la carte if you only need support in a certain area. You get to choose your own adventure - or, if you feel overwhelmed and want guidance in making the best choice for you, message me so we can get you in the right place.

  • I believe it’s valuable to learn from a large variety of disciplines and sources. The business practices and frameworks I’m teaching come from 4 years of entrepreneurship in a digital, service- and education-based business, economic theory, content marketing and learning design strategy, an understanding of the humxn nervous system and trauma, and a deep commitment to learning as I grow.

  • I believe in the power of accountability - and, I believe that the idea that you must get people into a long-term container to help them limits access to folx with less financial privilege. This immersion is a beta experience, allowing you to decide (or work with me to discover) what information and structures you need/want, and leave anything that’s extraneous.

  • The Foundational workshops (outlined below) are what I’d consider requirements for starting a solid, ethical, sustainable business. You might have some of them covered. You will likely benefit from going through all of them. But, ultimately, the choice is yours. If you want additional support and/or skill set practice, you can add on any of the Supplemental offerings detailed below after you register.

  • The Foundational workshops are a mixture of education, coworking (you work with me as we learn), and coaching. One of the crucial gaps in building a successful business is in developing the skill sets you need. To cover that, each workshop will include an action plan at the end, which you’ll get to implement to find your version of success.

PHASE ONE: these workshops are ideal if you’re just starting your entrepreneurial journey, if you’ve been thinking about it for a while but still feel like you haven’t started, or if you feel like you haven’t quite hit your stride. Also worth returning to if you’ve been at a plateau, feeling stagnant or disconnected from your vision, or you’re starting a new business venture.

FOUNDATIONAL:

  • Becoming: Truth - successful business owners think, feel, and operate differently. Your employee identity or student identity aren’t going to get you the business you want. A workshop on identity work required for building a biz, becoming the CEO, and why it’s ideal for you to be able to do everything in your business.

  • Business Foundations: Identify your vision + core values; too many creators build their business from the outside-in, aka looking at what other people have done, what’s normal, what works, what’s popular, what makes sense. This is where we stop that shit. Build your business model from the inside-out. AKA how do you want to live, be, feel? What makes you feel that way? What do you want your business to do, be, feel like? Sustainable business planning requires you start with your dreams and your values, then build the structure/model to support that. Build your business model here.

  • Feed Your Demons: Personal Growth for Business growth, aka how to work with the fact that your budding business will trigger the shit out of you. Identify your biggest triggers, add to your toolkit to work with them, and create a custom protocol to support yourself in one of the fastest personal growth accelerators around.

  • Community, Customers, Clients: again, you don’t need much to start a business, but you do need people who want and/or need what you have to offer. In offerings, we covered the what you sell piece. Now, let’s talk about the basics of choosing, building and growing a community of people who need and want what you’re offering. People whose lives are made better, richer, more full because of your platform and your business.

  • Messaging, Money, and Marketing: the alternative title for this workshop is non dick-ish sales. If you feel confused/terrified/stressed or otherwise funky about pricing and charging, how to sell your shit without losing it, ethical marketing and non-harming business practices, this is for you. We’ll be identifying some common manipulative practices in messaging, money and marketing as it’s commonly taught in business and business coaching circles.

  • Magnetic Offerings: in reality, you don’t need that much to start a business. One of the few things you truly need is something to soul. That can be information (information products like digital courses, eBooks, workshops like this series, guided audios, etc.), physical products, events/experiences, services…. In this workshop we’ll break down how to identify what you can ethically, responsibly sell now (minimum viable product), as well as identify where you're going big picture so you can start creating revenue and impact now, while working toward your future vision. We’ll also break down

  • Is this thing on? Creating content that people actually want to listen to/engage with. Answering questions like when is it ideal to just write what’s present/interesting/moving you at the moment, versus when it makes sense to have a more strategic approach, and giving you all the information to make the best decisions for your business.

  • Launching and Selling And Letting People Pay You: we’ll explore different ‘launching’ models and models for selling your work; then you’ll understand how to make a launch or sales plan that feels sustainable to your energy and aligned with your business goals.

SUPPLEMENTAL: these offerings are like the cherry on top, like adding guacamole to your order. If one feels particularly yummy, add it in. If you’re not sure, send me a note. Scheduling and enrollment details for these will be emailed out to everyone who registers for the full series or a single workshop.

  • Offerings Workshops ($100): every time I’ve run these workshops in my programs, people are blown away by how valuable they are. Think of these like weight training for the thing you’re selling (or getting ready to sell). This workshop provides the weight/resistance in the form of feedback, questions, and suggestions to make your product or service more potent and valuable to the people you’re serving. It sounds basic, and that’s why it’s magic.

  • Ethically Embodied Sales Skills Lab ($100): one of the main reasons I’m so good at selling is because I’ve done it a lot. The truth is that your nervous system is always going to get a little off-kilter when you do something new. Join this skills lab to practice getting the words out, selling your work, answering questions and helping people make the right decision for them. The more you practice ethical marketing, the easier it gets. You’ll also get real time feedback and suggestions from me on ways to tweak your sales process to make a more delightful experience for you and your people.

  • Making solid investment decisions as a business owner ($35): i.e. when should you hire a team, hire a web designer, a marketing expert, copywriter, coaching, mastermind, photoshoot, tech platforms, etc.

  • Group Coaching + Implementation ($125): these small group coaching calls (maximum 6 spots) allow you to come on and get hands on support, feedback, guidance on the work you’re learning and applying from the workshops. You get to choose the degree of support you need, and can grab a spot in these as it’s right for you.

INVESTMENT OPTIONS

  • Single Workshop: $100 (sliding scale prices available)

  • Full Series: $800 (sliding scale prices available)

These workshops are offered on a sliding scale - the full investment for each workshop is $100 for, with a limited number of $55 or $35 tickets available for those with less financial privilege. See more information on the registration page to determine if one of these sliding scale tickets is correct for you.

None of the workshops from Phase One resonate? Good news! Phase Two is coming soon…

Some FAQs or Qs I expect you might have.

Q: When are the workshops? What if I can’t come live?

A: The workshop schedule varies - you can see scheduled dates below. I have roughly tried to set up times that work for my energy, and the time zones where most of my audience lives (North and South America, Europe. Australia and New Zealand people, I’m sorry! There will be group coaching calls in your time for you to ask questions).

If you can’t come to any workshop live, you’ll be able to consume it digital-course style rather than live lecture, and will receive the same action plan to get you moving.

Q: I’ve done past programs of yours - is this different?

A: Yes. All of these workshops will be taught live, and have never been taught before in this format. The content is aligned with the core values of my business, but is updated and upgraded based on the new reality we’re living in, as well as new information and data I’ve collected.

Q: I’m confused by the sliding scale, can you help?

A: Absolutely. Sliding scale is offered as a way to increase accessibility to my work without creating burnout. My sliding scale is needs based, to allow for those with less financial privilege to access this support, while allowing those with more financial privilege to support folx with less. There are three tiers on the sliding scale - both for individual workshops or purchasing the whole series. This is an opportunity for you to explore a healthy relationship with your finances by looking honestly at what financial privilege and resources you have, and making the correct choice for you. More questions? Don’t hesitate to send me a note.

Q: Should I get individual workshops or the full series?

A; There is no financial difference between the full series or individual workshops. The question is more do you want the full experience and/or resonate with the description of each class, or not? Also, it’s easier to register once than multiple times, which is the main reason I offered the full series option. Have specific questions? Message me so I can help you decide.
